The Power of Full Engagement
Jim Loehr & Tony Schwartz
Managing Energy, not Time, is the Key to HIgh Performance & Personal RenewalThe number of hours in a day is fixed, but the quantity and quality of energy available to us is not. This fundamental insight has the power to revolutionize the way you live.
As Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz demonstrate in their groundbreaking New York Times bestseller, managing energy, not time, is the key to enduring high performance as well as to health, happiness, and life balance. Their Full Engagement Training System is grounded in twenty-five years of working with great athletes -- tennis champ Monica Seles and speed-skating gold medalist Dan Jansen, to name just two -- to help them perform more effectively under brutal competitive pressures. Now this powerful, step-by-step program will help you to:
· Mobilize four key sources of energy
· Balance energy expenditure with intermittent energy renewal
· Expand capacity in the same systematic way that elite athletes do
· Create highly specific, positive energy management rituals
The Power of Full Engagement is a highly practical, scientifically based approach to managing your energy more skillfully. It provides a clear road map to becoming more physically energized, emotionally connected, mentally focused, and spiritually aligned -- both on and off the job.
To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in 2001 which ignited a global conversation and helped millions to discover their top five talents. StrengthsFinder 2.0 is the newest version of this assessment that millions have taken to discover and build on their top 5 strengths. I think you will find this information useful and enjoyable and it may just give you a new view of yourself and new ideas about what to focus on in your life.
When I Say No I Feel Guilty
When I Say No I Feel Guilty is the book I have recommended most in my 25 years of practice. Manuel Smith, through entertaining vignettes, teaches us how to stay cool, calm and collected while saying No. Saying no is such an important skill in life and this book gives you techniques that you can put into practice immediately. You will be amazed the first time you try one -- it works and no one questions you about your no. He teaches us how to say no in a firm, calm manner and to stand by our new word -- no. It's wonderful and fun and I have seen people take to it like they've been doing it forever -- just saying no. Freedom is a heady feeling!
Younger Next Year for Women
Chris Crowley & Henry Lodge
Co-written by one of the country's most prominent internists, Dr. Henry "Harry" Lodge, and his star patient, the 73-year-old Chris Crowley, Younger Next Year for Women, is a book of hope and a guide to healthy, happy aging.
While there is a male version, this book is written specifically for women. It tells us how to turn back our biological clocks—how to put off 70% of the normal problems of aging and eliminate 50% of serious illness and injury. There are seven guidelines all together, based on the latest findings in cell physiology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, and experimental psychology.

Shaman's Eye Healing Rhythms for Trance Meditation
Liquid Bloom / Amani Friend
From LA Yoga: "Multilayered chants against a steady flow of theta rhythms that have engaging hypnotic results. Recommended."
From the CD liner: Throughout human history and across most native traditions, constant repetitive rhythms and the steady drone of chanting have carried shamans and other spiritual seekers into other dimensions in ecstatic trance. Even today, this music, as ancient as the rocks and wind, provides sacred transport to higher states of wellbeing and bliss. Attaining the Shante Ishta is the goal of this journey. This is the single eye of the heart," the third eye or wisdom eye of the ancients--the shaman's eye. It is the place where the individual soul attunes to the collective, universal heartbeat that unites us all.
